What the document says

“Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the remainder of fees collected under section 1930(a)(1)(A) of title 28, United States Code, after compensating trustees under section 330(b)(1) of title 11, United States Code, shall be deposited as follows:”

To amend titles 11 and 28, United States Code, to modify the compensation payable to trustees serving in cases under chapter 7 of title 11, United States Code, to extend the term of certain temporary offices of bankruptcy judges, and for other purposes, Sec. 3

A free standing rule, not an amendment. Once the trustee has been paid under section 330(b)(1) of title 11, United States Code, what is left of the fee collected under section 1930(a)(1)(A) of title 28 is to be deposited in the three amounts set out below, and this rule overrides any other law.

What the document actually says

“Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the remainder of fees collected under section 1930(a)(1)(A) of title 28, United States Code, after compensating trustees under section 330(b)(1) of title 11, United States Code, shall be deposited as follows:”

To amend titles 11 and 28, United States Code, to modify the compensation payable to trustees serving in cases under chapter 7 of title 11, United States Code, to extend the term of certain temporary offices of bankruptcy judges, and for other purposes, Sec. 3
That sentence, in plain words

The case worker is paid first. What is left of the fee is split up. This rule beats any other rule.

What this is about

The fee is what a person pays to file a case. Three pots of money share the rest. Each gets a set amount.

How to Read This Page

The quotation is the document's own words, exactly as printed, and we check the page number against the Act itself before publishing. The paragraph underneath is our summary, not the document's words. So is the plain English version, which is why it sits beside the quotation rather than replacing it.
