“Within 45 days of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Commerce shall allocate amounts made available from the Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) for America Fund for fiscal year 2026”
The opening of section 541 of division A. It gives the Secretary of Commerce 45 days from enactment to allocate the fiscal year 2026 money from the CHIPS for America Fund to the accounts, amounts, projects and activities named in a table in the explanatory statement described in section 4. A parallel paragraph gives the Director of the National Science Foundation the same 45 days for the CHIPS for America Workforce and Education Fund. The Act was approved on January 23, 2026.
