Section 5011 provides that any expiration date set by section 235(b) of the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984, so far as that section relates to chapter 311 of title 18 and the United States Parole Commission, does not apply between October 1, 2025 and January 30, 2031.

An older law set an end date for the parole board. That end date does not count from October 1, 2025 until January 30, 2031.
Parole is early release from prison, with rules. A federal board decides some of those cases. An older law would have closed it.
