Section 6215 requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services, by January 1, 2028, to use existing communications mechanisms to educate physicians and appropriate non-physician practitioners in Medicare about periodic screening for medication-induced movement disorders associated with treatment of mental health disorders in at-risk patients, and about clinical guidelines and best practices for furnishing that screening through telehealth.

That sentence, in plain words

By January 1, 2028 the health chief must teach doctors about this. The chief must use ways of reaching them that already exist.

What this is about

Some drugs for mental health can cause a person to move in ways they cannot control. A check can catch it early. This is about telling doctors that.

How to Read This Page

The quotation is the document's own words, exactly as printed, and we check the page number against the Act itself before publishing. The paragraph underneath is our summary, not the document's words. So is the plain English version, which is why it sits beside the quotation rather than replacing it.
