Section 6301 amends section 510 of the Social Security Act. In subsection (a) it moves the funding years and the short period forward by about a year, and changes fiscal year 2026 to fiscal year 2027 where it appears. In subsection (f)(1) it makes the matching change, so that the pro rata portion is figured from the fiscal year 2026 appropriation.

What the document actually says

“by striking ``2025, and for the period beginning on October 1, 2025, and ending on January 30, 2026'' and inserting ``2026, and for the period beginning on October 1, 2026, and ending on December 31, 2026''; and”

That sentence, in plain words

Cross out the words naming 2025 and a period that ended in January 2026. Write in words naming 2026 and a period that ends December 31, 2026.

What This Page Covers, and What It Leaves Out

The two things the section does: move the funding years and periods in section 510(a) of the Social Security Act forward, and make the matching change in section 510(f)(1).

The strike-and-insert instructions one by one where they make the same forward shift in different paragraphs.

The section amends the Social Security Act, which is not indexed here, so what section 510 requires of a grantee is not recorded on this site.
