What the document says

“is amended by striking "September 30, 2025" and inserting "January 30, 2026".”

Making continuing appropriations and extensions for fiscal year 2026, and for other purposes, Sec. 6204

The section amends section 1866G(a)(1) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395cc-7(a)(1)). The waiver began during the coronavirus emergency and has been carried forward in short steps since. This is one more such step, ending on the same day as the funding in division A.

“is amended by striking "September 30, 2025" and inserting "January 30, 2026".”

Making continuing appropriations and extensions for fiscal year 2026, and for other purposes, Sec. 6204
That sentence, in plain words

One date in the law is taken out. A later one is put in.

What this is about

A hospital can send some patients home and still treat them there. Medicare pays for it under this rule. The rule now lasts a bit longer.

How to Read This Page

The quotation is the document's own words, exactly as printed, and we check the page number against the Act itself before publishing. The paragraph underneath is our summary, not the document's words. So is the plain English version, which is why it sits beside the quotation rather than replacing it.
