Short Title

What this chapter is about

This part gives the law its name. The name is long because the law does many things at once. That is all this part does.

What the document says

“This Act may be cited as the "Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act, 2026".”

Making continuing appropriations and extensions for fiscal year 2026, and for other purposes, Sec. 1

Section 1 supplies the name by which the Act may be cited. The Act was approved on November 12, 2025, as Public Law 119-37. Several of its divisions carry their own separate short titles, among them the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2026 in division A and the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 2026 in division C.

What the document actually says

“This Act may be cited as the "Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act, 2026".”

Making continuing appropriations and extensions for fiscal year 2026, and for other purposes, Sec. 1
That sentence, in plain words

This law has a name. It is a long one. People use it when they write about the law.

What this is about

Laws get short names so people can talk about them. A name does not change any rule. It is just a label.

No action is recorded against this proposal. That is not evidence that none has been taken, and nobody has yet read it against the record. See what the tracker does not yet cover.

What This Page Covers, and What It Leaves Out

The one thing the section does: supply the name by which the Act may be cited.

Nothing else. The section has one sentence and no other content.

The section amends no older statute and requires nothing of anybody, so nothing recorded here depends on a document that is not indexed.
