What the document says

“Such amounts as may be necessary, at the level specified in subsection (c) and under the authority and conditions provided in applicable appropriations Acts for fiscal year 2024, for projects or activities (including the costs of direct loans and loan guarantees) that are not otherwise specifically provided for”

Making further continuing appropriations and other extensions for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025, and for other purposes, Sec. 3

Section 1101(a) is the engine of the continuing resolution. It carries forward twelve fiscal year 2024 appropriations Acts, listed as paragraphs (1) through (12) and drawn from Public Laws 118-42 and 118-47, and funds what they funded at the level defined in subsection (c). The later titles of division A then set different levels for named accounts.

What the document actually says

“Such amounts as may be necessary, at the level specified in subsection (c) and under the authority and conditions provided in applicable appropriations Acts for fiscal year 2024, for projects or activities (including the costs of direct loans and loan guarantees) that are not otherwise specifically provided for”

Making further continuing appropriations and other extensions for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025, and for other purposes, Sec. 3
That sentence, in plain words

Money keeps flowing at the level set the year before. The rules that came with it keep going too.

What this is about

Congress passes twelve money bills each year. It did not pass new ones for 2025. So the old ones are carried over.

How to Read This Page

The quotation is the document's own words, exactly as printed, and we check the page number against the Act itself before publishing. The paragraph underneath is our summary, not the document's words. So is the plain English version, which is why it sits beside the quotation rather than replacing it.
