What the document says

“the level for ``Social Security Administration--Limitation on Administrative Expenses'' shall be $14,127,978,000”

Making further continuing appropriations and other extensions for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025, and for other purposes, Sec. 3

Section 1901 applies the Bureau of Labor Statistics heading with $635,952,000 in place of $629,952,000. Section 1902 sets three more: $3,928,084,000 for State Unemployment Insurance and Employment Service Operations, $941,000,000 for the Health Care Fraud and Abuse Control Account, and $14,127,978,000 for the Social Security Administration's administrative expenses. Each carries amounts specified as additional new budget authority under a subsection of section 251(b)(2) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985.

What the document actually says

“the level for ``Social Security Administration--Limitation on Administrative Expenses'' shall be $14,127,978,000”

Making further continuing appropriations and other extensions for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025, and for other purposes, Sec. 3
That sentence, in plain words

The cost of running these offices is set at $14,127,978,000.

What this is about

This is what it costs to run the offices. It is not the benefit checks. Those are counted somewhere else.

How to Read This Page

The quotation is the document's own words, exactly as printed, and we check the page number against the Act itself before publishing. The paragraph underneath is our summary, not the document's words. So is the plain English version, which is why it sits beside the quotation rather than replacing it.
