The section requires the Secretary, on top of any other fee, to charge a fee when an alien subject to the Electronic Visa Update System enrolls in it. For fiscal year 2025 the amount is the greater of $30 or what the Secretary sets by rule, rising each year from fiscal year 2026 with the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers, rounded to the next lowest multiple of 25 cents. The fee may not be waived or reduced.
