That sentence, in plain words

Money is set aside for the defense department. It is on top of what it already has. It is for fiscal year 2025 and can be spent through September 30, 2029.

What this is about

Four sums are named. Two of them go to speeding up audits. One pays for budget work. One pays for research into computer security.

The quotation is the document's own words, exactly as printed, and we check the page number against the Act itself before publishing. The paragraph underneath is our summary, not the document's words. So is the plain English version, which is why it sits beside the quotation rather than replacing it.
