A Federal Interagency Work Group on Fentanyl Contamination of Illegal Drugs is established
The document says “shall”Who acts: Secretary of Health and Human ServicesHow: statuteSec. 110 in the PDF
What the document says
“The Secretary, acting through the Committee, shall establish a Federal Interagency Work Group on Fentanyl Contamination of Illegal Drugs (referred to in this paragraph as the `Work Group') consisting of representatives from relevant Federal departments and agencies on the Committee.”
The section rewrites subsection (g) of section 7022 of the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act. The rewritten subsection directs the Secretary, acting through the coordinating committee, to establish a work group drawn from Federal departments and agencies already on that committee.
What the document actually says
“The Secretary, acting through the Committee, shall establish a Federal Interagency Work Group on Fentanyl Contamination of Illegal Drugs (referred to in this paragraph as the `Work Group') consisting of representatives from relevant Federal departments and agencies on the Committee.”
That sentence, in plain words
The Secretary must set up a work group. Its members come from federal agencies. They look at fentanyl mixed into street drugs.
What this is about
The group is not new staff. It is people already at those agencies, meeting on one subject. It sits under a committee that already exists.

How to Read This Page
The quotation is the document's own words, exactly as printed, and we check the page
number against the Act itself before publishing. The paragraph underneath is our summary,
not the document's words. So is the plain English version, which is why it sits beside the
quotation rather than replacing it.
