Subsection (a). It directs the Secretary of the Interior to study whether sites and resources in the study area are suitable and feasible for inclusion in the National Park System as part of the park redesignated by section 2(a). The subsection names three subjects the sites and resources are to be associated with: maritime history, coastal defenses, and military history, including National Guard and militia activity. It does not itself move any boundary.
