What the document says

“by transferring sections 7, 8, 9 (as amended), and 10 to appear after section 127, as transferred by this Act, and redesignated as sections 131, 132, 133, and 134, respectively; and”

To amend the Save Our Seas 2.0 Act to improve the administration of the Marine Debris Foundation, to amend the Marine Debris Act to improve the administration of the Marine Debris Program of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and for other purposes, Sec. 4

Four sections of the Marine Debris Act, sections 7, 8, 9 and 10, are moved to appear after section 127 and renumbered as sections 131, 132, 133 and 134. Section 9 is described as amended because section 3 of this Act rewrote part of section 9(a). Sections 5 and 6 of this Act then amend sections 131, 133 and 134 at their new numbers.

What the document actually says

“by transferring sections 7, 8, 9 (as amended), and 10 to appear after section 127, as transferred by this Act, and redesignated as sections 131, 132, 133, and 134, respectively; and”

To amend the Save Our Seas 2.0 Act to improve the administration of the Marine Debris Foundation, to amend the Marine Debris Act to improve the administration of the Marine Debris Program of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and for other purposes, Sec. 4
That sentence, in plain words

Four parts of the sea trash law move to the back. They get new numbers: 131, 132, 133 and 134.

What this is about

Part 3 of this law had already changed part 9. That is why the words as amended are there. Later parts of this law use the new numbers.

How to Read This Page

The quotation is the document's own words, exactly as printed, and we check the page number against the Act itself before publishing. The paragraph underneath is our summary, not the document's words. So is the plain English version, which is why it sits beside the quotation rather than replacing it.
