What the document says

“the term `agency acquisition workforce' means the employees of a Federal agency that have procurement or acquisition responsibilities, including-- ``(A) employees described in section 1703 of title 41, United States Code; and ``(B) individuals that are part of the acquisition workforce, as defined in section 101(a) of title 10, United States Code.”

Paragraph (1) of the section adds a new paragraph (20) to the definitions in subsection (e) of section 9 of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 638). The term means the employees of a Federal agency that have procurement or acquisition responsibilities. The definition names two groups it includes: employees described in section 1703 of title 41 of the United States Code, and individuals who are part of the acquisition workforce as defined in section 101(a) of title 10. What those two provisions say is not recorded here.

What the document actually says

That sentence, in plain words

This names a group of workers. They are the staff who buy things for an agency. Two other laws name who else is in the group.

What this is about

The law needs a name for these workers. The rest of this part gives them training. Naming them first says who must be trained.

How to Read This Page

The quotation is the document's own words, exactly as printed, and we check the page number against the Act itself before publishing. The paragraph underneath is our summary, not the document's words. So is the plain English version, which is why it sits beside the quotation rather than replacing it.
