What the document says

“The training activities required under subparagraph (A) may be carried out using funds made available to carry out subsections (y) and (mm).”

To extend the SBIR and STTR programs, and for other purposes, Sec. 5

Subparagraph (C) names a source of money. The training activities may be carried out using funds made available to carry out subsections (y) and (mm) of section 9 of the Small Business Act. This Act appropriates nothing for the training and does not say what those subsections fund.

What the document actually says

“The training activities required under subparagraph (A) may be carried out using funds made available to carry out subsections (y) and (mm).”

To extend the SBIR and STTR programs, and for other purposes, Sec. 5
That sentence, in plain words

The training can be paid for out of two funds that already exist. Both are named in the older law.

What this is about

This law adds no new money for the training. It only says which pots it can come from.

How to Read This Page

The quotation is the document's own words, exactly as printed, and we check the page number against the Act itself before publishing. The paragraph underneath is our summary, not the document's words. So is the plain English version, which is why it sits beside the quotation rather than replacing it.
