The increase is the same percentage as the Social Security increase
What the document says“Each dollar amount described in subsection (b) shall be increased by the same percentage as the percentage by which benefit amounts payable under title II of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 401 et seq.) are increased effective December 1, 2025, as a result of a determination under section 215(i) of such Act (42 U.S.C. 415(i)).”
Section 2(c) of the Act. It fixes the size of the increase: each amount listed in subsection (b) rises by the same percentage as benefit amounts under title II of the Social Security Act rise effective December 1, 2025, under a determination made in section 215(i) of that Act. The Act names no figure of its own.
What the document actually says“Each dollar amount described in subsection (b) shall be increased by the same percentage as the percentage by which benefit amounts payable under title II of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 401 et seq.) are increased effective December 1, 2025, as a result of a determination under section 215(i) of such Act (42 U.S.C. 415(i)).”
The raise is the same size as the one for Social Security. That raise starts the same day.
Each year the government checks how much prices went up. It then raises checks by that much. This law ties the veterans' raise to that number.
